It's not on the park schedule yet, but there's a new meet and greet at Walt Disney World that if you enjoy meeting face characters you simply must do.
Marvel's new entry into the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has hit just about every theater in the world now, and most everyone who has seen it agrees that Baby Groot steals the movie. Well, for the foreseeable future, guests of Disney's Hollywood Studios can meet Baby Groot as an interactive character along with the roguishly charming Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord.
The venue is tucked away in the rear of the "One Man's Dream" exhibit, which is on the back strip of the park between theLittle Mermaid show and the ever-popular ride, Toy Story Midway Mania. There's a small menu board sign in front, but that's the only signage you'll find designating it as the spot to find the infantilized sequoia and his half-human friend. You'll pass by the many miniature displays that chronicle Walt's planning of the theme parks, and at the end of the hall you'll find a door that leads to the greet. Going early in the day will ensure the shortest line, especially since there are no FastPass+ available for this meet and greet.
Once there you'll meet Peter Quill, who will introduce you to his little friend, Baby Groot, who will dance, look on in awe, and repeat the one phrase he's famous for, "I am Groot!" But he gives the line such inflection that you'll understand what he's saying, don't worry.
It's a real treat for the entire family, and it's an attraction that you just have to put at the top of your plans!
